FAKE FACES
18”x24” Acrylic on wood panel
AVAILABLE
On a hairpin they take off the mask and show themselves. Once a safe haven now a threat. Betrayal lingers in the air like a thick wet fog, the villain is revealed.
One of the key factors to sending me into this episode was an odd amount of people pulling 180s on me. People I’d trusted a great deal disappeared or became people I no longer recognized. I was blindsided several times and left with palpable hurt.
It’s easy to see yourself as the problem. After all, they were around for so long as such a great person, and if so many people are doing this, surely I’m the common denominator right?
This just isn’t true. People can be fickle, unpredictable, selfish, cowards. If someone feels you’re doing something they don’t want to associate with and won’t tell you, that’s on them. People that run and hide or flip script out of nowhere are either afraid of confrontation or fully self absorbed, and you deserve better than that.
