Jim Alesci’s Place.

Otherwise known simply as “Alesci’s”, this family owned and operated Italian street food restaurant and café has a little bit of everything for everyone. Home cooking just like grandma’s, baked goods to drool for, and a staff that may as well be family have been the ingredients to cook the best Italian experience in Northeast Ohio. For the better part of three years I worked with the heads of the operation to make the business look and feel as friendly and intensely loved as it truly is. Alesci’s is a labor of love and decades of history.

Branding.

The original logo was designed by Jim Alesci himself, but that’s all they had. I worked with the Alesci family to both refine the existing logo mark, as well as expand the brand a hundred fold, and that’s no exaggeration. This was nearly ground-up with so many different angles it’s easy to get lost! I took the maze of services the restaurant offers and gave each thing its own little home.

Interior.

Branding doesn’t stop at logos and business cards. I took all of the assets and used the identity system we developed together to make signage, decals, a chalk mural I hand lettered every few weeks, and even had a good chunk of influence on the actual store layout. Everything was seen with intention, and every graphic was designed in context with the space.

Products.

Alesci’s has a lot goin’ on in their little store. A hot food bar, salad bar, groceries, gourmet cheese case, coffee bar, gelato bar, bakery, wine. I had the pleasure of not only creating a menu to organize all of this delicious goodness, but I also designed quite a few of the products and their packaging. Olive oil bottles, tee shirts, gelato cups, tons of fun and tasty stuff.
